Broadcast SMS text Messaging
How to create a SMS Campaign
The first step of creating a SMS campaign is to login on Desktop.xminder and then follow the steps below:
- Go to Campaign Views and select Sms Campaigns.
- Click on
Add New Campaign
. Now the SMS campaign editor is opened. - Create your campaign by editing every field of the editor:

Sender Name
- the name that will occur on the screen of your contact’s phone. -
Message
- the body of your text message. The maximum length of a message is 160 characters. If your message has more than 160 characters, it will be sent, and charged as two or more messages. You can include special characters and runtime values. -
Campaign Name
- the name of your broadcast file. -
Select a list of contacts
- add the contacts to whom the text messages will be sent. You can either import the list from one of your database tables, add them from a text or select one of your user groups. - Select a
Do Not Send List
– optionally, you can add a Do Not Send list. The message will not be sent to the contacts included on this list. - Program your campaign - You can choose to send the message right now or you can set the date and the hour when it will be delivered.

Send email with report when finished
– select this option and add your email address. You will receive an email when the messages will be sent.

- Use the
Test Message
button to test how the SMS will look like by sending it to one cell phone, before the campaign starts. - Click
Save & Start
and select a folder in which your broadcast file will be saved (or create a new folder).
Your campaign is now started. It will stop automatically when all the records from the contact lists will be consumed.
Follow the reply
- Go to Campaign Views and select your campaign.
- Open the campaign editor (either using the button
Edit
, or by double click) and check the column Reply in the grid.
Follow statistics
Go to Campaign Views, select your campaign and click on the icon Statistics
.
You can view the statistics also by opening the campaign's editor and click on the Statistics
button.
The statistics report of the Sms broadcasts contains data about the delivery status of your campaigns (total number of items, delivered messages, not delivered, replies).

Data Import / Export
In order to add a large amount of records to your campaign's buffer, you can import data from three sources:
- Import from a CSV file, from your computer:
- Select the location of your CSV file.
- Select the fields separator.
- Select the text separator.
- Select the
First line contains column headers
option if it applies to your CSV file. - Click the
Upload
button.
- Import from Text:
- Copy / Paste records in the text box (one record per line).
- Select the field to import the data; in this case CellPhone is the default field.
- Select the
Skip duplicate
option to avoid spam. - Click on the
Import
button.
- Import from a Database table, from your office:
- Select the name of your Database table.
- Select the fields in the contact list that you want to fill in with data from the application, than match them with the suitable ones from the application's form.
- Apply filters to extract only certain items from the application's records.
- Click on the
Finish
button.
- Note: When importing from CSV files, be careful to select the correct fields and text separators.
Broadcast MMS
How to create a MMS Campaign
The first step of creating a MMS campaign is to login on Desktop.xminder and then follow the steps below:
- Go to Campaign Views and select Mms Campaigns.
- Click on
Add New Campaign
. Now the MMS campaign editor is opened. - Create your campaign by editing every field of the editor:

Sender Name
- the name that will occur on the screen of your contact’s phone. -
Message
- the text body of your message. -
Upload files
- you can upload up to 4 files, max 600 kb (supported types: jpg, png, gif, wbmp, bmp, mp3, amr, wav, midi, emy, 3gp, mp4). -
Campaign Name
- the name of your broadcast file. -
Select a list of contacts
- add the contacts to whom the messages will be sent. You can either import the list from one of your database tables, add them from a text or select one of your user groups. - Select a
Do Not Send List
– optionally, you can add a Do Not Send list. The message will not be sent to the contacts included on this list. - Program your campaign - You can choose to send the message right now or you can set the date and the hour when it will be delivered.

Email Marketing
How to create an Email Campaign
The first step of creating an email campaign is to login on Desktop.xminder and then follow the steps below:
- Go to Campaign Views and select Email Campaigns.
- Click on
Add New Campaign
. Now the email campaign editor is opened. - Create your campaign by editing every field of the editor:

Subject
- the text that will occur in your contact’s email box as Subject. -
Email Body
- the body of your email. You can edit it as html. -
Sender Name
- the name that will occur in your contact’s email box as From. -
Campaign Name
- the name of your broadcast file. -
Select a list of contacts
- add the contacts to whom the email will be sent. You can either import the list from one of your database tables, add them from a text or select one of your user groups. -
Do Not Send List
– optionally, you can add a Do Not Send list. The email will not be sent to the contacts included on this list. - Program your campaign - You can choose to send the email right now or you can set the date and the hour when it will be delivered.

- Note: Before you start the Email Campaign, make sure your Email SMTP is correctly set and tested.
Follow statistics
Go to Campaign Views, select your campaign and click on the icon Statistics
.
You can view the statistics also by opening the campaign's editor and click on the Statistics
button.

Widgets
How to create a widget
The first step of creating a widget is to login on Desktop.xminder and then follow the steps below:
- Go to Database.
- Open or create a new database table.
- Click the button

to create a new widget; the window Create Widget will be opened. - Name your newly created widget, select Yes to activate it and click the button

How to use the widget editor
From the Widgets window select the widget that you want to customize and then click the button Editor
. The Editor window will open, splitted in four sections:
- Properties: a list with all properties of the widget.
- Properties editor: displays the editor for modifying each chosen field.
- Templates: you can choose from one of our already designed templates.
- Preview: displays the modifications made in the Properties editor, in real time.

- Note: Do not forget to save your modification before closing each property editor.
How to use your widgets
To use a widget on the Internet, follow the steps below:
- In the Widgets window select the widget that you want to use.
- Click on the
Html Code
button; the Widget Html Code window that will open contains the html code of the widget. - Copy this html code and paste it in your website's html code, anywhere between <body> and </body> tags.
Anytime a visitor of your website inserts data and presses the widget's Submit
button a new record will be added in your database.
Database
Define Keywords
The first step of creating an API Database keyword is to login on Desktop.xminder and then follow the steps below:
- Go to Database.
- Open or create a new database table.
- Click the button
Api
from the menu's section Actions; the Database Api's menu will be displayed in the new window Api Config. - Click the button
Add
to create a new keyword; the window Choose Type will be opened. - Select the type of the action for the new keyword:
Sms
orE-mail
and click on theOK
button. Now the Add window is opened. - Create new keyword by editing every field of this window's form:

Keyword
- the keyword name that will be used in the API Database's URL. -
Sender Name
- the name that will occur on the screen of your contact’s phone. -
To field
- choose the field that will contain:- the phone number, for the
SMS
type keyword; - the email address, for the
E-mail
type keyword.
- the phone number, for the

Email body
- the body of the email that will be sent after the database insertion. You can include special characters and runtime values. -
Message
- the body of the text message that will be sent after the database insertion. You can include special characters and runtime values.

- Use the
Test Email
button to test how the email message will look like, by sending it to one email address, before finish creating the E-mail type keyword. - Use the
Test SMS
button to test how the SMS will look like by sending it to one cell phone, before finish creating the SMS type keyword. - Click
Save
to finish the keyword creation.
Your Database Api's keyword is now created. It can be used in the API Database's URL.
