Broadcast SMS text Messaging


How to create a SMS Campaign


The first step of creating a SMS campaign is to login on Desktop.xminder and then follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Campaign Views and select Sms Campaigns.
  2. Click on Add New Campaign. Now the SMS campaign editor is opened.
  3. Create your campaign by editing every field of the editor:
    • Sender Name - the name that will occur on the screen of your contact’s phone.
    • Message - the body of your text message. The maximum length of a message is 160 characters. If your message has more than 160 characters, it will be sent, and charged as two or more messages. You can include special characters and runtime values.
    • Campaign Name - the name of your broadcast file.
    • Select a list of contacts - add the contacts to whom the text messages will be sent. You can either import the list from one of your database tables, add them from a text or select one of your user groups.
    • Select a Do Not Send List – optionally, you can add a Do Not Send list. The message will not be sent to the contacts included on this list.
    • Program your campaign - You can choose to send the message right now or you can set the date and the hour when it will be delivered.
    • Send email with report when finished – select this option and add your email address. You will receive an email when the messages will be sent.
  4. Use the Test Message button to test how the SMS will look like by sending it to one cell phone, before the campaign starts.
  5. Click Save & Start and select a folder in which your broadcast file will be saved (or create a new folder).

Your campaign is now started. It will stop automatically when all the records from the contact lists will be consumed.


Follow the reply


  1. Go to Campaign Views and select your campaign.
  2. Open the campaign editor (either using the button Edit, or by double click) and check the column Reply in the grid.


Follow statistics


Go to Campaign Views, select your campaign and click on the icon Statistics.
You can view the statistics also by opening the campaign's editor and click on the Statistics button.

The statistics report of the Sms broadcasts contains data about the delivery status of your campaigns (total number of items, delivered messages, not delivered, replies).

Campaigns Campaign Settings Contains all the options for campaign settings.

Statistics Statistics Open the statistics page.
Progress bar Displays the percentage of the consumed records.

Quick send Sender Name How it will appear on your contact's phone.
Message Sms text, maximum 160 characters or 918 in 6 concatenated messages.
Test Message How the SMS will look like on the receiver's cell phone.
Symbol Special characters (.,!@#$%^&*()<>?).
Runtime Values Data about the contact (First Name, Last Name, phone numbers, email address) taken either from the campaign's buffer or from the office's contact details or contact person.
Send email with report when finished When the message is sent to all the contacts in the list, an email will be sent to the email address here, containing a quick report about the broadcast.
Advanced Start date and time Set the date and the hour when the campaign starts.
Stop date and time Set the date and the hour when the campaign stops.
Timezone Choose a specific time zone. If this field is not modified, then the messages will be sent taking into account your office's time zone.
Do Not Send List The sms dialer will skip the numbers included in this list.
Campaign Schedule Add more specific data about the days and the hours when the broadcast should run.


Buttons - Buffer content

Record Add Add new record to the buffer.
Edit Edit the selected record.
Delete Delete the selected record / records.
Add to Dns Add record to Do Not Send list.
Refresh Refresh the buffer.
Search Search Search an item in the buffer; insert the criteria in the search field and click Apply.
Import / Export Import Import records in the buffer from a CSV file, from text, from a user group or from the Data Base.
Export Export data to PDF, CSV or Excel.


Data Import / Export


In order to add a large amount of records to your campaign's buffer, you can import data from three sources:

  1. Import from a CSV file, from your computer:
    1. Select the location of your CSV file.
    2. Select the fields separator.
    3. Select the text separator.
    4. Select the First line contains column headers option if it applies to your CSV file.
    5. Click the Upload button.
  2. Import from Text:
    1. Copy / Paste records in the text box (one record per line).
    2. Select the field to import the data; in this case CellPhone is the default field.
    3. Select the Skip duplicate option to avoid spam.
    4. Click on the Import button.
  3. Import from a Database table, from your office:
    1. Select the name of your Database table.
    2. Select the fields in the contact list that you want to fill in with data from the application, than match them with the suitable ones from the application's form.
    3. Apply filters to extract only certain items from the application's records.
    4. Click on the Finish button.


Note: When importing from CSV files, be careful to select the correct fields and text separators.



Broadcast MMS


How to create a MMS Campaign


The first step of creating a MMS campaign is to login on Desktop.xminder and then follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Campaign Views and select Mms Campaigns.
  2. Click on Add New Campaign. Now the MMS campaign editor is opened.
  3. Create your campaign by editing every field of the editor:
    • Sender Name - the name that will occur on the screen of your contact’s phone.
    • Message - the text body of your message.
    • Upload files - you can upload up to 4 files, max 600 kb (supported types: jpg, png, gif, wbmp, bmp, mp3, amr, wav, midi, emy, 3gp, mp4).
    • Campaign Name - the name of your broadcast file.
    • Select a list of contacts - add the contacts to whom the messages will be sent. You can either import the list from one of your database tables, add them from a text or select one of your user groups.
    • Select a Do Not Send List – optionally, you can add a Do Not Send list. The message will not be sent to the contacts included on this list.
    • Program your campaign - You can choose to send the message right now or you can set the date and the hour when it will be delivered.
    • Send email with report when finished – select this option and add your email address. You will receive an email report when the messages will be sent.

Email Marketing


How to create an Email Campaign


The first step of creating an email campaign is to login on Desktop.xminder and then follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Campaign Views and select Email Campaigns.
  2. Click on Add New Campaign. Now the email campaign editor is opened.
  3. Create your campaign by editing every field of the editor:
    • Subject - the text that will occur in your contact’s email box as Subject.
    • Email Body - the body of your email. You can edit it as html.
    • Sender Name - the name that will occur in your contact’s email box as From.
    • Campaign Name - the name of your broadcast file.
    • Select a list of contacts - add the contacts to whom the email will be sent. You can either import the list from one of your database tables, add them from a text or select one of your user groups.
    • Do Not Send List – optionally, you can add a Do Not Send list. The email will not be sent to the contacts included on this list.
    • Program your campaign - You can choose to send the email right now or you can set the date and the hour when it will be delivered.
    • Send email with report when finished – select this option and add your email address. You will receive an email when the Email campaign will be sent.
  4. Use the Test Email button to test how the email message will look like, by sending it to one email address before the campaign starts.
  5. Click Save & Start and select a folder in which your broadcast file will be saved (or create a new folder).

Your campaign is now started. It will stop automatically when all the records from the contact lists will be consumed.


Note: Before you start the Email Campaign, make sure your Email SMTP is correctly set and tested.


Follow statistics


Go to Campaign Views, select your campaign and click on the icon Statistics.
You can view the statistics also by opening the campaign's editor and click on the Statistics button.

The statistics report of the Email broadcasts contains data about the delivery status of your campaigns (total number of items, delivered messages, not delivered, unsubscribes).

Widgets


How to create a widget


The first step of creating a widget is to login on Desktop.xminder and then follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Database.
  2. Open or create a new database table.
  3. Click the button Widgets; the widget menu will be displayed in the new window Widgets.
  4. Click the button Create to create a new widget; the window Create Widget will be opened.
  5. Name your newly created widget, select Yes to activate it and click the button Create to create the widget and close the window.
  6. Select the widget and click Editor or double click on the widget for design and customization.

Record Refresh Reload and display the window Widgets with all the updates.
Create Create a new widget.
Edit Rename the selected widget.

Enable / Disable the selected widget.

Delete Delete the selected widget.
Duplicate Duplicate the selected widget. The new name must be unique.
Widget Editor Open the widget editor where you can change the widget's design.
Test Display the widget as it will look on your website.
Html Code Display the html code which will be inserted on your website.


How to use the widget editor


From the Widgets window select the widget that you want to customize and then click the button Editor. The Editor window will open, splitted in four sections:

  1. Properties: a list with all properties of the widget.
  2. Properties editor: displays the editor for modifying each chosen field.
  3. Templates: you can choose from one of our already designed templates.
  4. Preview: displays the modifications made in the Properties editor, in real time.


The complete list of widget's properties, with descriptions:

Header No The header of the widget; contains text and brings graphic identity; can be edited with an html editor.
Body Yes Edit the graphic properties of the body (size, background, fonts, border).
Labels Yes Edit label's text: fonts and style.
Inputs Yes Select the database fields that will appear on the widget.

Choose the fonts and style for this fields.

Submit Button Yes Edit the text and the graphics for the widget's Submit button.

Also, the user can enable a redirect link to another website.

Links No Enable the text with the link Powered by Xminder.
Footer No The footer of the widget; contains text and brings graphic identity; can be edited with an html editor.
Announcements No For each subscription the user can be announced via email.

Also, the data can be submitted to an special URL.

Submission Status Text No The text displayed after the widget's Submit button is pressed.
Sms Alert No Notify the subscriber, via SMS, that his data are collected.
Email Alert No Notify the subscriber, via email, that his data are collected.

Note: Do not forget to save your modification before closing each property editor.


How to use your widgets


To use a widget on the Internet, follow the steps below:

  1. In the Widgets window select the widget that you want to use.
  2. Click on the Html Code button; the Widget Html Code window that will open contains the html code of the widget.
  3. Copy this html code and paste it in your website's html code, anywhere between <body> and </body> tags.

Anytime a visitor of your website inserts data and presses the widget's Submit button a new record will be added in your database.



Database


Define Keywords


The first step of creating an API Database keyword is to login on Desktop.xminder and then follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Database.
  2. Open or create a new database table.
  3. Click the button Api from the menu's section Actions; the Database Api's menu will be displayed in the new window Api Config.
  4. Click the button Add to create a new keyword; the window Choose Type will be opened.
  5. Select the type of the action for the new keyword: Sms or E-mail and click on the OK button. Now the Add window is opened.
  6. Create new keyword by editing every field of this window's form:
    • Keyword - the keyword name that will be used in the API Database's URL.
    • Sender Name - the name that will occur on the screen of your contact’s phone.
    • To field - choose the field that will contain:
      • the phone number, for the SMS type keyword;
      • the email address, for the E-mail type keyword.
    • Email body - the body of the email that will be sent after the database insertion. You can include special characters and runtime values.
    • Message - the body of the text message that will be sent after the database insertion. You can include special characters and runtime values.
  7. Use the Test Email button to test how the email message will look like, by sending it to one email address, before finish creating the E-mail type keyword.
  8. Use the Test SMS button to test how the SMS will look like by sending it to one cell phone, before finish creating the SMS type keyword.
  9. Click Save to finish the keyword creation.

Your Database Api's keyword is now created. It can be used in the API Database's URL.


Buttons: Api Config window


The menu of the window Api Config, with detailed info:

Button Description
Add Creat a new keyword.
Edit Open the keyword editor for the selected keyword.

This is the place where you can rename the keyword, change the Sender Name, the To field or the body of the email / sms message.

Delete Delete the selected keyword.
Usage Opens the Api Usage window that displays the URL model for the API Database.

The URL text can be copied from this window and pasted in any browser's address bar.
After the user completes all the necessary values from this URL he can press the Enter key for the API Database to run and insert the values in the database table.

Refresh Reload and display the window Api Config with all the updates.
